Credential Control At Your Fingertips

In today's organizations, physical security credentials such as keys, cards, fobs, codes, mobile, etc. can be easily created and given out. Many of us already have time-tested authorization workflows for approved issuance tracking so only the right individuals receive access. These workflows most likely already require signature approvals and custody chains. But do you have this information centralized and easily accessible for future preparedness or audit? It should no longer be tracked in paper, on some kind of issuance log, or in a stand-alone software program. You should centralize this data in the cloud so that everyone has what they need when they need it.

According to the US Chamber of Commerce, many businesses overlook or underinvest in physical security because its risks may seem less urgent than cyber threats; however, burglary, internal theft and unauthorized access are more common than many business owners realize.

So, what happens when an employee or contractor is separated from your organization? Most likely, the network credentials are easily managed by Information Security or Human Resources and are promptly deactivated.

But who is responsible for their physical security credentials? Normally, this is a managerial responsibility for who issued them.  Wouldn't you want to know all credentials they were issued and confirm they were returned prior to their separation?

And, what about when security breaches, disaster recovery, or if immediate access is needed, wouldn't it be helpful to have this information all in one place?

SecurityRecords offers cloud-based Physical Security Credential Tracking software which allows administrators real-time access to that information anytime, from anywhere, and on any device.  The cloud-based software can be decentralized by area of responsibility allowing multiple administrators access for real time support and solutions. Easily add what they have, link it to what it accesses, and even audit those credentials regularly.

Plus, in the event of an employee or contractor separation, the administrator would know exactly which physical security credentials to collect and/or deactivate. Also, through consistent back-end audit procedures, an administrator can demonstrate their accuracy and compliance regularly.

Also, by having this information centralized in the cloud, it allows business managers, administrators, and owners the ability to pull a complete list of Users with access credentials to compromised areas during a security breach or disaster recovery situation. The data is easily found within the console and can be pulled up on a mobile or computing device to be shared as needed. Through these proven flywheel-type best practices, physical security credentials can be easily issued, managed, and monitored; helping to improve your organization's safety and security.

Simply by logging in to SecurityRecords console on any cloud-enabled device, visibility to any security system's credential data can be obtained easily from anywhere, 24/7.
